We have seen quite a few leaks about the next generation Galaxy Z models, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7. Today, a video has just been leaked showing the Galaxy Z Fold7 prototype side by side with the Z Fold6.

YouTube channel TheSINZA has just posted a new video showing the Galaxy Z Fold7 prototype created based on rumors and leaks. When placed next to the Z Fold6, this foldable smartphone looks significantly thinner.

According to rumors, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is only 8.9mm thick when folded and 4.5mm when opened. This is an impressive reduction compared to the corresponding figures of 12.1mm and 5.6mm of the Galaxy Z Fold6. SINZA also hypothesizes that the weight of the Galaxy Z Fold7 is only 215g, not only lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold6 (239g) but also lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra (218g).

Despite being thinner and lighter, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 will have a bigger and better display. The outer display is rumored to be 6.5 inches with a typical 21:9 aspect ratio. Inside, it will have an 8.2-inch foldable display, promising to provide users with a large viewing area. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is expected to come in three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It will also come in Blue Shadow, Jet Black, and will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

A series of renders posted by AndroidHeadlines show that the Galaxy Z Fold7 will have an ultra-thin body, with two color options: Blue Shadow and Jet Black. It is expected that blue may be the main color for Samsung's upcoming products, as we have also seen renders of the Galaxy Watch Ultra in a new blue color.

According to previous rumors, the phone will be just 4-4.5mm thick when unfolded, which is significantly smaller than the 5.6mm of the Z Fold6. That's also something we've seen Samsung hint at in recent social media posts, revealing that the new foldable devices will be significantly thinner than the previous generation.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 is also larger, with an 8.2-inch main display and a 6.5-inch secondary display on the outside. It's also likely to be lighter than its predecessor. The smartphone has a fairly large camera module, almost twice as large as its ultra-thin bezels. The lenses appear to be surrounded by a pill-shaped module rather than being separate. This large camera cluster could be due to the phone's 1/1.4-inch 200MP main sensor.

The other two cameras include a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, with OIS support. The Z Fold7's ultra-wide-angle camera will likely support autofocus like the Galaxy S25 Edge. We can also see the phone's slim power button (with a fingerprint scanner underneath) and volume rocker on the right side.

The latest teaser depicting the Galaxy Z Fold7 does not reveal the official specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold7, but according to many reports and rumors that have appeared in recent times, the phone is expected to have an 8.2-inch main screen and a 6.5-inch secondary screen. This improvement has been brought by the company to the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition model, promising to bring more spacious display space to users.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 will have a flat back with 4 slightly rounded corners, giving it a masculine, sturdy look. The phone has a pill-shaped camera module, containing 3 lenses inside and an LED flash on the outside. In terms of size, the phone is said to measure 158.4 x 143.1 x 3.9 mm, showing impressive thinness.

Sammobiles has shared the CAD files of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7, revealing many interesting details. According to the leak, the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold6 is 4.54mm thin when opened. When folded, it has a body that is 9mm thin, or 0.1mm thicker than the OPPO Find N5, which is currently the world's thinnest foldable phone. The dimensions when opened are 158.43 x 143.14 x 4.54mm.

According to a report from TheElec, Samsung plans to use titanium in the Galaxy Z Fold7 and its first tri-fold phone, which is expected to launch in the second half of this year. Titanium is said to be used on the back of both devices, unlike the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which uses the material for the frame.

This is not the first time the South Korean tech giant has used titanium in its foldable phones, as the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition also has a titanium back. The backplate is a component used as a support between the hinge and the foldable back. Previously, Samsung used a stainless steel backplate in the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 2.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 will reportedly not have an S Pen to reduce the overall thickness of the phone. Samsung Display is said to be developing an OLED panel that works with a stylus without the need for a digitizer. Apple uses a similar technology, where the stylus has a built-in battery to detect the tip position.
