PPA Tour is not a strange name to pickleball fans. This is one of the largest and oldest pickleball tournaments of the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA). After many years of taking place mainly in the US, the PPA Tour system will officially expand to the Asian market with the name PPA Tour Asia.
The turning point of Asian pickleball
The PPA Tour Asia 2025 system includes tournaments at three levels: Slam, Cup and Open. The Slam level is for the world's top athletes. The Cup level is the arena for professional players and the Open level is the playground for talented local players. The accumulated points and total prize value at each level also range from 50,000 USD - 1,000 points to 1 million USD - 2,000 points.
Matches are broadcast live onFPT Play
The points from the PPA Tour Asia 2025 tournaments will be counted towards a separate ranking - where athletes will compete for the title of No. 1 on the continent. According to UPA Asia - the tournament organizer, this tournament structure will provide maximum participation opportunities for athletes, thereby expanding the influence of the sport in regional countries.
PPA Tour Asia 2025 kicked off in early July with the first leg in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). The tournament will continue in Hong Kong (China), Fukuoka (Japan), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and return to Malaysia in mid-October this year. This series of tournaments is expected to bring together many strong players, notably Trinh Linh Giang, Wong Hong Kit, Yufei Long and Nicola Schoeman...

Three important stages including Hong Kong Open (August 21 - 24), Sansan Fukuoka Open (August 26 - 31) and Malaysia Cup (October 9 - 12) will be broadcast live and exclusively by FPT Play on its affiliated platforms.
Trinh Linh Giang's Hope
After an impressive victory at the Panas Malaysia Open - the opening tournament of the PPA Tour Asia 2025, Trinh Linh Giang is currently holding the top position in the men's singles category on the continental rankings. He accumulated 1,000 points, surpassing two strong opponents, Vanshik Kapadia (800 points) and Wong Hong Kit (600 points).

In the upcoming Hong Kong Open, Trinh Linh Giang is the one fans have high expectations for. He has a relatively favorable schedule because he is not in the same bracket with strong opponents. If he starts smoothly, Trinh Linh Giang is likely to advance to the finals and gain an additional 1,000 points from this tournament.
Pickleball Vietnam will participate in the Hong Kong Open in particular and the PPA Tour Asia 2025 in general in many events, from men's singles, women's singles to men's doubles and women's doubles. Other players such as Ly Hoang Nam, Le Xuan Duc, Sophia Huynh Tran Ngoc Nhi and Sophia Tran Phuong Anh... all have the ability to create surprises, especially in the early rounds if they make good use of their speed and ball control.
