On November 30, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to study the direction of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh regarding the Bao Loc City bypass road.

The units are responsible for advising and proposing to the Provincial People's Committee a plan to implement the remaining items of the bypass route before December 18, 2024.

The Bao Loc city bypass project belongs to the investment project to construct and restore National Highway 20 in the two provinces of Dong Nai and Lam Dong under the form of BT contract (National Highway 20 project).

According to the conclusion announcement of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, it is agreed to stop investing in the Bao Loc City bypass route under the BT form and organize the establishment of a new project for the remaining items of the bypass route to invest with public investment capital.

The Ministry of Transport is fully responsible for the contents and proposed reports, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee shall base on the provisions of the Road Traffic Law and guiding documents after they come into effect to complete investment; review and balance capital to implement the remaining items of the Bao Loc City bypass route, ensuring completion in 2025.

As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper , the Bao Loc City bypass has a total investment of 800 billion VND with a length of nearly 16 km, started construction in February 2017 and is expected to be completed and put into use in 2019. This is an additional item using the remaining capital of the National Highway 20 project.

However, construction on this route had to be suspended from October 2020 when it was about 70% complete. This suspension was under the direction of the Ministry of Transport to wait for additional capital. The suspension of construction on the route for 4 years caused the road items to deteriorate, affecting the traffic and traffic safety of people in the area.

In August 2023, a long section of the bypass road through Loc Son ward, Bao Loc city collapsed and was seriously damaged. Several traffic accidents also occurred on the bypass road, causing deaths.
