On September 5, more than 660,000 students and preschoolers in Dong Thap province will enter the new school year 2025 - 2026. The province currently has 1,084 schools, including 360 preschools, 390 primary schools, 254 secondary schools and 80 high schools. This is a school year that the education sector has identified as having many key, breakthrough tasks to improve overall quality and efficiency.

In preparation for the 2025-2026 school year, Phu My Primary School (Sa Dec Ward, Dong Thap Province) has completed the repair and upgrade of facilities, teaching equipment, medical rooms and toilets. Thanks to the initiative of the school board, all conditions have been ensured, ready for the opening ceremony.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhut - Principal of Phu My Primary School said: This year, the school's opening ceremony has a new feature: teachers and students will be able to watch online the program celebrating the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Education. This is an opportunity for teachers and students to join in the atmosphere with the connecting points across the country, at the same time arousing the tradition and pride of the education sector.

Entering the new school year, Phu My Primary School has identified its core goal as improving the quality of comprehensive education and effectively implementing the 2018 General Education Program. The school focuses on training students' qualities and abilities. At the same time, it trains its team of managers and teachers; promotes the application of information technology and innovates teaching methods.

In addition, the school continues to build a safe, friendly, happy learning environment, encouraging creativity in teaching and learning. In particular, students have access to the English program from grade 1, helping to create a solid foreign language foundation for the next levels of study.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, a parent whose child is about to enter grade 1 in Sa Dec ward, shared his feeling of security when the school carefully prepared facilities and teaching equipment for students. “The teaching staff and modern teaching equipment meet the teaching needs, so I feel very secure when sending my child to grade 1. The school also teaches English and IT from the first years of grade 1, so my child will have early and effective access to knowledge,” Mr. Tuan Anh shared.

As of September 4, many communes and wards in Dong Thap have simultaneously launched the 2025 Learning Promotion Month under the guidance of the Provincial Learning Promotion Association. Specifically, many communes and wards in Dong Thap province have organized to honor typical learning models, launching lifelong learning movements with the themes "Green Learning Promotion" and "Digital Education for All".

On this occasion, more than 1,080 scholarships, 350 gifts, 70 bicycles, 20 study corners and nearly 3,800 notebooks were awarded to about 1,460 disadvantaged students, along with 280 typical learning models being rewarded. The total cost was more than 1.5 billion VND.

Focus on improving the quality of education

According to Mr. Le Quang Tri - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dong Thap province, the new school year is also the time for the provincial education sector to accelerate digital transformation and administrative reform. Schools will promote the application of IT in management, teaching and learning; build industry databases, digital learning materials, smart classrooms; expand online public services to reduce procedures and create convenience for parents and students.
