The tourist routes and destinations are planned according to the Ecotourism, resort and entertainment project of Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve, period 2021-2030 (referred to as the Ecotourism Project), approved by the Provincial People's Committee at the end of 2023, with a total expected investment capital of nearly 1 trillion VND.
Discover the "green lung" of the Southeast region
Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve has a total natural area of over 100 thousand hectares. Of which, the forested area is nearly 66 thousand hectares, the non-forested area is about 2 thousand hectares; Tri An Lake area is over 32 thousand hectares and is one of the locations planned to develop into a national tourist destination.
Once known as the “green lung” of the Southeast region, Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve has typical forest and lake ecosystems including: evergreen broadleaf closed forest; mixed bamboo and broadleaf forest; pure bamboo forest; grassland and shrub ecosystems and river and lake ecosystems.
Regarding the diversity and richness of the flora and fauna, the reserve is the “roof” of more than 600 plant species and nearly 1,900 animal species living and developing. Among them are many rare species listed in the Red Book of Vietnam and the world such as: Asian elephant, gaur, sun bear, clouded leopard, black-shanked douc, pheasant and many endemic birds. In particular, this is the home of the last wild elephant herd in Vietnam with about 22 individuals, an extremely attractive highlight for wildlife viewing tours and scientific research.
Providing more information about the values of Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve, Mr. Nguyen Van Ha, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Ecotourism Project, said: In addition to natural values, the reserve also has cultural values with the presence of ethnic minority communities. Unique cultural features are valuable resources for developing community tourism models, helping visitors experience more deeply the lives of indigenous peoples. In addition, there are also famous historical sites such as: Southern Central Bureau Base, Ma Da Martyrs' Cemetery... which are "red addresses" for generations of young people, students, and tourism businesses to organize interesting and meaningful source tourism routes combined with exploring the green forest.
Opportunities for investors, tourism development
With the goal of effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of natural resources, biodiversity and cultural and historical values to create unique, high-quality tourism products that are competitive in the market according to the province's Ecotourism Project, Dong Nai hopes to find visionary investors who are pioneers in seizing opportunities to participate in registering to invest in international-class tourism development projects. These will certainly be tourism projects that promise to bring outstanding profits, contributing to the sustainable development of Dong Nai tourism as well as the Vietnamese tourism industry.
Sharing about the advantages when investors come to Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve, Deputy Director of the reserve Dinh Thi Lan Huong affirmed: Investors can be completely assured when investing in projects planned according to the Ecotourism Project approved by the Provincial People's Committee. In addition to the advantages of being well-planned, the above projects have been created with solid, safe and transparent legal foundations through decisions and directives of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee.
With 51 tourism development points and 37 clearly planned forest exploration routes, it will be the basis for domestic and foreign enterprises to come to this "precious gem" in the world's biodiversity ecosystem. Because this place has been recognized by UNESCO as the core area of the Dong Nai World Biosphere Reserve since 2011 - a "golden guarantee" of value and brand on the global tourism map.

In order to facilitate investors, Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve has introduced 6 investment categories with outstanding potential, including: High-end resort complex planned to build resorts and resort villas along Tri An Lake, taking advantage of the water landscape and the tranquility of the forest. The planned area is about 326 hectares, targeting high-end customers, MICE tourism (a type of tourism combining conferences, seminars, events); wildlife breeding and observation area (Safari) with a planned area of 412 hectares, visitors can experience watching wildlife in the natural environment. This is an extremely attractive model for domestic and foreign tourists, combined with educational activities and wildlife photography.
Deputy Director of Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve Dinh Thi Lan Huong said: The Ecotourism Project of the reserve currently has 12 investors registered to participate. Dong Nai hopes that potential investors will be interested and work with the locality to exploit this invaluable potential, together creating a world-class ecotourism destination, bringing harmonious benefits to businesses, the community and nature.
Adventure and aerial sports tourism aims to exploit diverse terrain to develop types such as: trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and especially aviation sports parks with aerial sightseeing experiences (hot air balloons, paragliding), meeting the experiential tourism trend of young people.
Other items such as: Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center is planned with an area of 240 hectares; community and cultural tourism cooperates with local people to build homestays, cultural experience tours, indigenous cuisine, creating sustainable livelihoods and in-depth tourism products; Carbon Credit Project aims to take advantage of the large forest area to participate in the carbon credit market, a new and potential field, bringing in dual income from tourism and forest environmental services, this is an investment item leading the trend of green economy and sustainable development.
