The Minister of Agriculture and Environment ordered the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company to close 1 bottom spillway gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir at 6:00 p.m. on June 30, 2025.
Closely monitor the development of rain and floods, construction safety, flow to the lake, upstream and downstream water levels of the reservoir, promptly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (through the Department of Dike Management and Disaster Prevention and Control) and relevant agencies as prescribed.
On the same day, the Ministry of Agriculture also sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of the provinces and cities of Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hanoi regarding ensuring downstream safety when operating the Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir.
To ensure safety for constructions and riverside activities, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requests the People's Committees of provinces and cities to notify authorities at all levels, people, and organizations operating on rivers and riverside to take proactive measures to ensure safety and adjust activities accordingly; do not let people go to areas at risk of landslides or construction works to avoid unfortunate losses.
Previously, on June 29, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment ordered the opening of two more bottom spillways of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir at 12:00 and 18:00.
