In addition to 186 traditional markets and tens of thousands of businesses providing essential goods for people, Dong Nai province currently has 9 shopping centers and 19 supermarkets, along with chains of convenience stores and mini supermarkets expanding in localities in the province, including remote areas. In addition, the whole province has also strongly developed chains of convenience stores belonging to the systems: Bach Hoa Xanh, WinMart, Co.op Food, GS25, FamilyMart..., mimi supermarkets, and convenience stores.

Multi-channel sales are considered the future of the Vietnamese retail industry in general and in Dong Nai in particular. The store focuses on diversifying product lines to meet modern consumer trends, bringing many conveniences to urban consumers, especially the segment of young consumers and young families.

Supermarkets and convenience store chains are an extended retail model of large retailers with a diverse distribution and retail system. Therefore, when shopping at supermarkets and convenience stores, in addition to the convenience of specific products and services, customers enjoy synchronous incentives across the entire distribution and retail system of the business, brand, etc.

Mr. Tuan Dat (residing in Binh Phuoc ward, Dong Nai province) said: “Currently, the system of supermarkets and convenience stores developing in the area has contributed to diversifying shopping channels and modern consumption for people. In recent times, the province has proactively implemented many action programs and specific plans to promote the digital economy, including the development of e-commerce.

Promote digital payments

To catch up with the wave of technology in the e-commerce industry, digital payment also plays an important role in spreading the convenience of modern payment methods to the community, thereby improving people's quality of life...

Lotte Mart Dong Nai Director Le Duc Thuan added: “We focus on developing target customer groups based on shopping behavior, living area, and frequency of interaction. At the same time, we continue to develop multi-platform sales: from website, mobile application, to GrabMart platform, ShopeeFood Mart, developing livestream... to expand touch points and meet the increasing needs of consumers”.

In recent times, the commercial banking system in the province has performed well in payment and increased non-cash payments. At the same time, it has timely and fully provided the amount of cash and the structure of money types to serve production and circulation of goods.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 2 Branch (the unit managing banking, currency and foreign exchange activities in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province), in terms of developing the banking service network, Dong Nai Province currently has 132 units, including 88 bank branches. Credit institutions in the province focus on developing modern payment services, promoting digital transformation in banking activities. Thereby, providing many safe, convenient and practical digital banking services for people, businesses... In particular, the banking industry has been promoting solutions to effectively implement Project 06/CP of the Government, contributing to promoting non-cash payments in the area.

Deputy Director of the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 2 Branch, Nguyen Duc Lenh, emphasized: Connecting, exploiting and using national data on population to serve the development of account services (including opening payment accounts; payment authentication; customer information reconciliation, account cleaning). This activity brings many meanings and great benefits to the process of expanding and developing non-cash payments in the economy. At the same time, promoting the growth of economic activities associated with the development requirements of the digital economy such as: e-commerce; technology transportation; service tourism and consumer credit activities... developing according to modern trends, applying technology and creating convenient products to serve socio-economic development and people's lives in the province.

With diverse payment methods (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, QR code, e-wallet, credit card/debit card...), most people can pay for essential services and needs in daily life such as: electricity, water, phone bills, bus/train/airplane tickets, tuition fees, shopping in supermarkets/convenience stores, online shopping... quickly and conveniently.
