That is the inheritance of thousands of years ago to have great victories in the resistance war against France, against the US, protecting the southwestern border, fulfilling international obligations, to have our beautiful country as it is today. Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia affirmed what General Secretary To Lam said at the recent meeting of meritorious people nationwide, that is, in any circumstance, in any historical period, the Party, Uncle Ho and our political system always pay special attention to policy work and meritorious people.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia hopes that local leaders will pay more attention, first of all, to perfecting policies, laws and focusing on overcoming the consequences of war. From searching for and gathering martyrs' remains to building gratitude houses; mobilizing many social and state resources to care for people's lives.
In particular, it is necessary to do a good job of propaganda and education on patriotism so that the younger generations of martyrs' families and those with meritorious services can continue to follow their example; be determined to maintain the achievements of the revolution; encourage children to study, innovate and create to get rich to build the homeland to be more and more prosperous and happy, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers as wished by Uncle Ho and our people...
According to the People's Committee of Long Thuan Ward, Dong Thap Province, in recent years, the ward has effectively implemented policies and guidelines to care for people with meritorious services. Up to now, the functional sector has supported the construction and repair of 173 gratitude houses with a total value of more than 4.4 billion VND. In addition, the ward has also basically solved the housing needs of war invalids and martyrs facing difficulties; supported children of people with meritorious services in their studies and careers; ensured that 100% of policy beneficiaries are provided with health insurance and full health care.
