Regarding the possibility of Quang Nam Club leaving the V-League and merging with SHB Da Nang Club, the VFF Executive Committee agreed on a plan to arrange, adjust, supplement, and replace teams participating in national professional football tournaments in the 2025/26 season.

Accordingly, VFF has set out criteria for selecting a replacement team for Quang Nam if this team withdraws from the tournament. The criteria will be based on the results of the national first division tournament in the 2024/25 season; Only 1 replacement team will be selected, which is the team with the highest ranking after the teams that have won a place in the V-League 2025/26 and are eligible for a license in the following order: Binh Phuoc Club (runner-up of the national first division tournament 2024/25); PVF-CAND Club (ranked 3rd in the national first division tournament 2024/25).

In case Binh Phuoc Club refuses to be promoted, VFF will consider PVF-CAND Club as a replacement. In case both clubs above refuse to be promoted, VFF will keep the 2025/26 V-League with 13 participating teams.

Thus, in case Quang Nam officially withdraws from the tournament, Binh Phuoc will be chosen to replace them in the V-League next season. However, VFF and VPF are still waiting for the final decision of Quang Nam Club. This team recently proposed 2 options, in which it still leaves open the possibility of participating in the V-League 2025/26 if it finds a sponsor with financial potential and enthusiasm.

According to research, on July 25, Quang Nam Club may make a final decision on leaving the V-League or merging with SHB Da Nang Club.
