Investigation into the case of 46 workers suspected of food poisoning after the October 20th party

Accordingly, the Food Safety Department received a quick report No. 409/BC-SYT dated October 21 from the Department of Health of Bac Giang province on a suspected food poisoning incident at Shinsung Vina Company Limited (address: Lot B1, Song Khe - Noi Hoang Industrial Park, Bac Giang City, Bac Giang Province).
Of these, about 46 people showed symptoms of abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness and fever after attending the company's party meal.
Faced with the above situation, the Food Safety Department requested the Bac Giang Provincial Department of Health to urgently suspend the operations of the unit providing meals suspected of causing food poisoning.

The Food Safety Department also requested that the authorities organize investigations and trace the origin of food to clearly identify the source of raw materials and food for processing facilities suspected of causing poisoning; take food and specimen samples for testing to find the cause; detect and strictly handle violations of food safety regulations (if any) and publicize the results to promptly warn the community.
In addition, the Food Safety Department requires units to strengthen propaganda and guidance for food service establishments and collective kitchens to ensure hygiene and food safety conditions, strictly implement the management of food ingredients' origin, three-step food inspection, food sample storage and hygiene in processing stages.
In addition, units are required to strictly implement the contents on preventing and handling food poisoning, strengthening food poisoning prevention and Prime Minister 's Directive No. 38/CT-TTg on strengthening food poisoning prevention.
As reported by Kinh te & Do thi, Bac Giang Department of Health has quickly reported that dozens of workers of Shinsung Vina Co., Ltd. (Song Khe - Noi Hoang Industrial Park) had symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, frequent diarrhea, dizziness, fever, and were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Previously, at noon on October 20, Shinsung Vina Company Limited organized a party for workers at Noi Hoang football field (Noi Hoang commune, Bac Giang city), with 1,160 participants. The meal had many dishes such as seafood, steamed king prawns with coconut water, rare veal with lemon, fried squid with butter, honey-grilled chicken, grilled catfish with galangal and rice paper rolls.
The next morning, dozens of company workers with symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, frequent diarrhea, dizziness, and fever were taken to Bac Giang Provincial General Hospital and Tan Dan General Hospital for emergency treatment.
Immediately after the incident, the authorities of Bac Giang province conducted an investigation, collected information about the food facility that provided lunch on October 20 for Shinsung Vina Company Limited and assessed the conditions for ensuring food safety. The Center for Disease Control of Bac Giang province has deployed to collect samples for testing, to find the cause of the incident. As of 11:15 a.m. on October 21, there were 46 workers being treated at hospitals.
