Rayyan Arkan Dikha, an 11-year-old boy from Indonesia, became a social media phenomenon after a video of him performing a dance on the bow of a traditional racing boat went viral on multiple platforms.

The video, recorded by onlookers, shows Rayyan appearing confident while performing graceful, powerful, and expressive dance moves right on the bow of a boat speeding across the water.

This is one of the activities in the traditional Pacu Jalur event series - a unique boat racing festival of local people in Riau province, Indonesia.

The boy's energetic performance quickly went viral and was loved by millions of internet users around the world . Even famous athletes like Travis Kelce (NFL) and Alex Albon (F1) imitated his dance.

This dance is even considered by many social media users as a new symbol of the “aura farming” trend – a popular term used to describe people who naturally express their charm, confidence, and charisma without any forced effort.

Immediately, the boy's identity was also sought after by social network users around the world.

According to research, Rayyan Arkan Dikha was born on December 28, 2014 in Kuantan Singingi, Riau province. He is currently a 5th grader. Rayyan started jumping on boats when he was 9 years old. His family has a tradition of participating in the Pacu Jalur festival. Rayyan's father and uncle are both boat racers. Meanwhile, the boy learned to jump mainly through observation and self-training.

In a recent interview with BBC , Rayyan shared that the viral performance was completely improvised.

“I came up with that dance myself. It was just a moment of inspiration,” he said.

According to Mr. Fadli Zon, Minister of Culture of Indonesia, standing and jumping on the bow of a racing boat moving at high speed requires very good balancing skills. Therefore, children are often chosen for this task because of their light weight and greater flexibility than adults.

However, Rayyan's mother, Rani Ridawati, still can't help but worry every time her son performs.

"I was afraid my child would slip and fall and get hit by the paddle," she shared.

However, she also felt more secure knowing that there was a lifeguard on duty. Rayyan herself had learned to swim since she was a child and was a very good swimmer.

The sudden fame has opened up many interesting opportunities for Rayyan. Recently, the boy was appointed by the Governor of Riau province as a cultural ambassador, representing the locality to promote traditional values.

Not only that, Rayyan also had the opportunity to go to the capital Jakarta, meet the Minister of Culture and Tourism and perform on national television with his mother.

"Every time my friends see me, they say I've become famous," Rayyan excitedly recounted.

Although he is known as a child dancer, he still dreams of becoming a police officer in the future. For young people who want to pursue the same passion as him, Rayyan advises to focus on health, because that is the foundation to achieve all goals.

Rayyan's Instagram account currently has over 21,000 followers, and that number is still growing rapidly.
