However, she realized that she could not study medicine and act at the same time, so she switched to studying commerce in France. After graduating, Linh Dan returned to Vietnam to work but had to stop because she could not find joy in her work.
The actress still saw the opportunity to return to cinema. Through the invitation of French directors, she acted in films such as: Les mauvais joueurs, De battre mon coeur s'est arrêté ... and won the César Award for Promising Actress .
Since then, Linh Dan has been attached to cinema, considering it an important part of her life. She has continuously participated in film and television projects as an actress.

Pham Linh Dan was also invited to be a screenwriter and director of short films, receiving high praise from experts.
