A bright spot of patriotic emulation at the school on the historic land of Dong Loc

GD&TĐ - Over the past 5 years, Dong Loc High School has affirmed its position as an excellent advanced school, making an important contribution to the patriotic emulation movement in Ha Tinh.

Brilliant achievements from competitive spirit

Located on the historical land named Dong Loc T-junction - a place associated with the immortal feats of our nation in the resistance war against the US to save the country, with more than 50 years of construction and development, Dong Loc High School not only carries on its revolutionary tradition but also continues to write new pages of achievements in the career of "cultivating people".

In the period of 2020-2025, the school maintained a stable scale of 38 classes with more than 1,500 students, 92 cadres, teachers and staff. With the close attention and direction of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh, the District Party Committee, the People's Committee of Can Loc District (old) and the companionship of parents, Dong Loc High School has made strong breakthroughs, affirming itself as one of the bright spots of general education in the province.

Mr. Tran Duc Tai - Meritorious Teacher, Vice Principal of the school confided: "Emulation here is not just a propaganda slogan, but must be transformed into action, transformed into specific, practical work of teachers and students in teaching and learning".

These achievements are recognized by noble titles: 5 consecutive years of being classified by the Department of Education and Training as having excellently completed its tasks; 5 consecutive years of being recognized by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee as an Excellent Collective; many times being awarded Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Provincial People's Committee. In particular, in the 2023-2024 school year, the school was honored to receive the Third-class Labor Medal from the President and the Emulation Flag leading the whole province.

Recently, the school continued to be recognized as a typical advanced collective of the Ha Tinh education sector in the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020-2025. The Trade Union was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Vietnam Education Trade Union, and the School Youth Union was recognized by the Central Youth Union as an excellent unit.

The teaching staff also left a special mark: 1 teacher was awarded the title of Excellent Teacher, 3 provincial-level emulation fighters, and hundreds of teachers achieved the title of grassroots emulation fighters.

In particular, the quality of mass education and key education have maintained their positions. The rate of good and excellent students has increased steadily; the school is always in the top 10 of the province in terms of the number and quality of excellent student awards. In the period 2020-2025, more than 10 students were called to the national team, including 1 student winning the Second Prize in History and 1 student winning the Encouragement Prize in Biology.

Nguyen Thi Hong Yen - a 12th grader from A9, who won second prize in the National History Competition, shared: “Joining the provincial and national teams is an opportunity for me to grow up. The dedication of our teachers has given us more confidence to conquer new heights.”

The annual high school graduation exam also recorded proud results: 100% graduation rate for 5 years; average scores of some subjects are higher than the average of the province and the whole country; university entrance exam results of the school's students have improved significantly, the number of students with 27 points or more are often in the top 5 leading high schools in the province, many students are admitted to top universities nationwide.

Comprehensive education, aspiration to reach far

Not only does Dong Loc High School focus on educating students in ethics, life skills, and sense of responsibility, it also focuses on cultivating students’ morals, life skills, and sense of responsibility. Arts, sports, STEM, and foreign language clubs, as well as career guidance experience activities, are held regularly, becoming a “useful playground” for students to practice soft skills and nurture their passion and creativity.

Mr. Tran Xuan Vinh (Math teacher) confided: “We are happy not only when students win prizes, but also when we see them confidently speaking in front of a crowd, or being passionate about scientific experiments. That is the practical result of comprehensive education.”

In addition, the school’s teachers and staff are always pioneers in innovation. The culture of learning, self-improvement, and application of information technology in teaching is increasingly widespread. Many teachers take on the responsibility of nurturing excellent students and have achieved many proud achievements.

Dong Loc High School also focuses on fostering ethics, life skills, and responsibility for students.

In particular, the school will organize 2 sessions/day to diversify extracurricular activities, focusing on career guidance experiences to equip students with life skills, creative thinking and adaptability in the integration period.

Facilities and teaching equipment will also continue to be invested synchronously; trade union and youth union movements will maintain creativity, aiming to care for the spiritual life of students, teachers and the community.
