Regarding the case of the Khoi My stop at Cai Rang floating market ( Can Tho city) being suspended for 2 months after a tourist fell into the river, on March 26, according to the reporter's records, this facility is still operating, so many boats and ships are busy carrying tourists here to visit.

Previously, on February 16, the collapse of the raft’s bow at the Khoi My stop caused four tourists to fall into the river. At that time, the number of tourists gathered at the raft’s bow waiting for the boat to pick them up was too large, causing part of the raft’s bow to collapse, causing tourists to fall into the water.

After the incident, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City established an interdisciplinary inspection team and discovered that the facility had a number of violations, such as: not fully complying with business conditions, the barge had an expired inspection and did not ensure safety conditions for tourists.

The inspection team requested the owner of the facility to complete the above procedures and reinforce and upgrade the raft to ensure safety requirements and conduct inspection in accordance with regulations to be licensed to resume operations.

On February 18, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a decision to fine Mr. Tran Chi (owner of the barge at the Khoi My stop) 7.5 million VND for failing to warn of the danger to tourists. In addition, the facility was also suspended for 2 months.

Although the suspension period has not yet expired, this facility is still welcoming visitors. Speaking to the press, a leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City said that they have contacted the People's Committee of Cai Rang District to check.
