This morning, as usual, Nguyen Dinh Vinh Hai, a student at Dong Hai Secondary School (Dong Hoi City), still went to the reading space of the Provincial Library as a habit during the summer. Vinh Hai shared that after the end of the school year, almost every year, the Provincial Library is his "number one" choice for a useful and interesting summer. With a variety of books, a quiet, cool, clean space and active support from the staff of the Provincial Library, he is completely comfortable exploring the "treasure" of knowledge here.
Vinh Hai shared: “I often go to the Provincial Library because there are many good and useful books here; at the same time, the space is very quiet, helping me to rest and relax after a stressful day of studying. I often read comics and documents because they can help me entertain and learn more knowledge. The librarians here are very enthusiastic and often help me find good books to read.”
As a parent who regularly takes her children to the Provincial Library not only during the summer but also on weekends and holidays, Ms. Duong Thi Oanh (Nam Ly Ward, Dong Hoi City) said that recently, in addition to the entertainment spaces, the Provincial Library has become an indispensable destination for her children. Coming here, her children can satisfy their passion for reading, share their love of books with their friends, and experience many useful activities.
The space is comfortable, airy, clean, cool, the attitude of the librarians is very cheerful, enthusiastic, and friendly. The library has many good, diverse, and rich books, children can learn about all their favorite fields. I really hope that in the future, the Provincial Library will continue to improve the quality of service for readers, especially for young readers, such as: Enriching more books, improving infrastructure, enhancing experiences, exchanges, learning...
This result is thanks to the tireless efforts of the library staff throughout the past time. Right before the summer vacation, the Provincial Library implemented a specific and detailed plan of activities; at the same time, supplemented new sources of books and newspapers suitable for the age and level of each subject and arranged and organized reading spaces reasonably and scientifically for young readers.
Currently, the Provincial Library maintains more than 15,000 copies of books for children with diverse content, such as: Foreign languages, general knowledge, folk literature, technology, history, geography, newspapers, magazines... Since the beginning of summer, the Provincial Library has welcomed hundreds of young readers to explore and experience reading books.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet, Reader Services Department, Provincial Library said: "Every summer, we have very different preparations compared to normal days.
Accordingly, we arrange facilities and books suitable for their age; at the same time, we create an open, airy space, as well as more books to serve children. In addition to on-site services to help children find the books they need, we organize many meaningful and attractive experiential activities, such as: Quizzes with prizes, drawing, storytelling from books... Thereby, helping to enrich the children's experience when coming to the Provincial Library".
Director of the Provincial Library Truong Thi Quynh Anh: “In the coming time, the Provincial Library will invest in more space and equipment to serve readers, creating a love for them. At the same time, we will always innovate reader service according to each age group to have separate service models and methods; increase the application of information technology in reader service. In particular, to build reading habits for students, we will coordinate more closely with the Departmentof Education and Training to promote reading culture in schools”. |
In addition, the Provincial Library also organizes many exciting activities to encourage and spread the love of reading to young people during the summer, such as: Book introduction sessions, extracurricular activities... Along with innovating the organization, the Provincial Library also implements many other attractive and meaningful reading models.
It is expected that with effective and creative solutions, the Provincial Library will continue to be a favorite meeting place for children who love and are passionate about books. Thereby, contributing to forming reading habits in children, spreading and developing reading culture in the community.
