The goal is to contribute to developing Dak Lak into a seaport - logistics center, serving the development of industry, trade, services and international integration.
According to the adjustment, by 2030, the whole province will have 3 seaports including 2 ports in Vung Ro wharf area and 1 port in Bai Goc - Dong Hoa wharf area, with a total of 16 - 17 wharves, 3,417 - 3,532 m long.
In particular, Vung Ro port area has 4-5 wharves, meeting the demand for goods from 1.5-2 million tons. Bai Goc - Dong Hoa port area will have 12 wharves, directly serving the needs of forming and developing Hoa Tam industrial park, oil refinery complex, metallurgy and energy industry, with general wharf, bulk cargo, liquid/gas cargo.
Anchorage areas, combined transit areas to avoid and shelter from storms in Xuan Dai Bay, Vung Ro Bay, Bai Goc - Dong Hoa and other areas receive ships with a capacity of up to 100,000 tons or larger when qualified.
The Decision also adjusts some contents in the Planning for the development of land and water areas of Phu Yen seaport (old) for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. The total land use demand according to the province's seaport planning until 2030 is about 88.59 hectares (not including areas for the development of industrial parks, logistics... associated with the port).
