Accordingly, Quang Tri province proposed 8 new commune-level administrative units including Huong Lap, Huong Phung, Lia, A Doi, La Lay, Ta Rut, Dakrong, and Con Co special zone to have an allowance of 50% of the current salary. It is expected that 2,329 people will receive this allowance.
Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee proposed the above allowance level based on the reality of the old commune-level administrative units. For example, A Doi commune was established on the basis of merging 3 communes: A Doi (old) commune which is receiving a special allowance of 50%, Ba Tang commune which is receiving a special allowance of 50% and Xy commune which is receiving a special allowance of 30%. A Doi commune after the merger has 34 km of border, a large area, and difficult traffic and living conditions.
In addition to the special allowance, Quang Tri province also proposed to apply regional allowances to 19 new commune-level administrative units including: Huong Lap, Huong Phung, Khe Sanh, Tan Lap, Lia, A Doi, La Lay, Ta Rut, Dakrong, Con Co special zone (allowance level 0.7 of the basic salary); Lao Bao, Ben Quan (0.5); Huong Hiep, Ba Long (0.4); Vinh Linh, Vinh Thuy (0.1); Con Tien (0.3); Cam Lo, Hieu Giang (0.2). It is expected that about 6,813 people will receive this allowance.
It is known that Quang Tri currently has 10 district-level administrative units with 119 commune-level units. After dissolving the district-level administrative units, Quang Tri province arranged and merged to establish 37 new commune-level administrative units.
