2025 is the fourth year that Hanoi National University of Education has organized the competency assessment exam. The exam took place on May 17-18, attracting nearly 17,500 candidates. Candidates registered for a number of exams in the subjects of Mathematics, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, and Geography.
According to the school's statistics, the number of candidates registering for the Math exam is the highest with 13,182 students. Next is Literature with 11,914 students and English with 9,186 students.
The test combines multiple-choice and essay questions with scores based on the structure of the test; it assesses the level of understanding of core knowledge and the ability to reason, analyze, evaluate, problem solve and be creative.
Currently, there are up to 25 schools using the Hanoi National University of Education's competency assessment test scores for admission. In addition to the pedagogical schools nationwide, there are also the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, Thai Binh University of Medicine and Pharmacy, and Hanoi University of Construction.
The school notes that the exam results are only valid for admission to full-time university in the 2025 enrollment year.
