The congress took place with the theme: "Promoting the heroic tradition of predecessor units, building a clean and strong Party organization; a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, modern Army Corps, successfully completing all assigned tasks".
Attending the congress were Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; leaders of the Party Committee of the 34th Corps and 270 delegates representing 9,000 party members in the entire Corps.
According to the political report, since its establishment, the Party Committee of the Corps has focused on comprehensive leadership and direction, successfully completing the unit's tasks. The Corps strictly maintains combat readiness; provides realistic training; ensures adequate logistics, technology, and finance for regular and ad hoc tasks. Party building work is carried out synchronously and effectively; Party organizations operate in a disciplined manner, promoting their leadership role. Inspection and supervision work is carried out seriously by the unit; cadres and Party members maintain political and moral qualities, setting good examples.
The congress set out the direction for the new term as continuing to thoroughly grasp the resolutions and directives of the Central Committee, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense; focusing on three breakthroughs: improving the quality of training and ideological work; building discipline; promoting digital transformation and improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization.
Speaking at the Congress, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong praised the achievements of the Party Committee of the 34th Corps in recent times. The Deputy Minister of National Defense also requested the Corps to continue to build a strong unit, proactively research and advise the Ministry of National Defense on combat plans suitable to the two-level government model and the characteristics of the stationed area. The Corps needs to firmly grasp the area, especially the border and key areas; not to be passive or surprised in any situation; strictly maintain combat readiness, improve strategic mobility; closely coordinate with units in the area, and protect the safety of assigned targets.
The Congress elected the Party Executive Committee of the 34th Corps for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 19 comrades and 12 official delegates to attend the 12th Army Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Major General Le Minh Quang, Political Commissar of the 34th Corps, was elected to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the 34th Corps for the 2025-2030 term.
