With a serious, responsible and democratic spirit, the 2025 Conference of Labor Delegates of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) achieved high consensus on the contents approved at the Conference and was a great success.

Promoting workers' direct democracy

Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Mr. Le Quang Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of Vietcombank emphasized that the achievements that Vietcombank has achieved in the past time cannot be separated from the solidarity, dedication, creative work, and solidarity of more than 24,000 officers and employees in the entire system.

At Vietcombank, the democratic rights of workers are always promoted. Workers are always informed, discussed, given opinions, decided and supervised on issues related to their rights, obligations and responsibilities. The 2025 Workers' Delegation Conference is a forum to promote the direct democratic rights of staff and workers, ensure the legitimate rights and interests of workers as well as evaluate the results achieved in the fields of operation in 2024.

The conference approved the report on business performance, implementation of policies for employees, results of implementing the Grassroots Democracy Regulations and Trade Union activities at Vietcombank in 2024, and deployed directions and tasks for 2025. Also at the conference, representatives of a number of grassroots Trade Unions presented papers on key issues in Vietcombank's current operations such as "Solutions to motivate Vietcombank employees"; "Building Vietcombank - a Green Bank for sustainable development" and "Innovation and creativity to adapt to changes in the new era".

Vietcombank successfully organized the 2025 Labor Delegation Conference

In a democratic and frank atmosphere, Vietcombank Deputy General Director Phung Nguyen Hai Yen, on behalf of Vietcombank's Board of Directors, discussed and answered opinions and recommendations related to the regime and policies of employees in the entire system. The dialogue and response to employees' recommendations in a public and objective manner at the Conference created conditions for employees to know and give opinions related to their rights, interests, obligations and responsibilities; contributing to the implementation of democracy within the legal framework, building Vietcombank for sustainable development.

In order to maximize the right to mastery and select exemplary personnel to participate in supervising the implementation of the law on democracy at the grassroots level, the delegates unanimously elected Ms. Truong Thi Dieu Que, a member of Vietcombank's Board of Supervisors, to the People's Inspectorate with a 100% vote. After the Conference, the People's Inspectorate met and unanimously elected Ms. Truong Thi Dieu Que, a member of Vietcombank's Board of Supervisors, as Head of the People's Inspectorate.

Building a strong and comprehensive Vietcombank Union

Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu highly appreciated the organization method and content of the conference, which ensured full procedures but was still concise and creative. In the development strategy and vision of Vietcombank's Board of Directors, employees are always the center, and also the factor contributing to Vietcombank's success over the past 60 years.

Based on the conference process, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu suggested that Vietcombank Trade Union pay attention to, supervise, and effectively and substantially implement the conference's Resolution. Vietcombank's leaders need to strive to maintain their pioneering and exemplary role in implementing policies to protect the legitimate rights and interests of employees. Each officer and employee needs to strive, overcome difficulties, and contribute to the sustainable development of Vietcombank, which is also creating their own future in the development of society.

Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietcombank Nguyen Thanh Tung emphasized that, entering 2025, closely following the direction of the Government and the State Bank on organizing the implementation of the tasks of the banking sector in 2025, Vietcombank strives to achieve the highest results in the set goals and targets to gradually realize the goals of Vietcombank's Development Strategy set by the Board of Directors.

Accordingly, in addition to strongly transforming the operational structure towards quality and sustainability, Vietcombank will build and develop an ecosystem, promote connectivity; strengthen the foundational capabilities of data and technology, digital transformation, optimize operations and governance according to best practices. From there, it will create a solid foundation for realizing the goals set by 2030.

In that journey, Vietcombank Trade Union needs to continue to promote its role as a trustworthy representative of workers; be a solid and trustworthy support for the Party Committee and the Board of Directors; be an effective bridge between the Board of Directors and union members and workers; effectively implement political and ideological education... contributing to realizing the goal set by the 6th Congress of Vietcombank Trade Union, which is "Building a comprehensively strong Vietcombank Trade Union, performing well its functions and tasks in the new situation in association with the strategic goal of sustainable development of Vietcombank".
