Within the framework of the Da Nang Enjoy Festival 2025, the installation art space “The Story of the Fishing Village” at Man Thai Beach (Son Tra) abstractly and suggestively recreates the rhythm of life, community cohesion and the connection between the people of the fishing village and the ocean. Inspired by the working life, activities and beliefs of fishermen in the Da Nang coastal area, the space is built with 4 main themes: Fish Waves, Going offshore, Salty Flavor and Mural Garden.
With the theme of Fish Waves, more than 1,600 meca and wooden fish are arranged with a height of 4.5m, width of 5.5m, length of 5.7m; above is a basket boat, combined with blue LED light to create a magical lighting space like the rhythm of the ocean life at night.
Meanwhile, the theme “Going offshore” depicts the journey of fishermen across the ocean to find fish. The sails are filled with wind, the image of boats going out to sea at dawn or returning at dusk is vividly expressed through installation art and lighting effects. This space evokes a strong message about the aspiration to reach far and rise of an entire community attached to the sea.
“Salty Flavor” is an art installation that recreates the living space after each trip out to sea through a concentric circle - a symbol of the bond, of the sustainable survival cycle between humans and the ocean. In particular, the “Fishing Village Story” art space is even more vivid with performances of “Ba Trao” singing - a folk art form associated with the worship of Whale and the traditional fishing ceremony, and traditional musical ensembles. The “Fishing Village Story” art installation space is held from June 19 to 23; in which the art installation space is displayed from 8:00 to 22:00; Ba Trao singing and ensemble are from 20:00 to 21:00.
