(PLVN) - Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Le Trung Chinh has just issued a letter calling on all cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and people of the city to actively participate in propaganda work, fighting and preventing crimes in cyberspace.

In the letter, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City emphasized that cybercrime is on the rise, with many sophisticated tricks and causing great damage to the people. Criminal acts include impersonating authorities to request bail money transfers, impersonating state employees to collect electricity, water, and insurance bills; organizing activities such as competitions and summer camps to defraud parents; and other illegal activities such as online gambling, black credit, and drug trafficking...

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City also predicted that cybercrime will continue to develop complicatedly in the coming time.

To deal with this situation, the head of Da Nang City called on people to raise awareness and vigilance when participating in activities on cyberspace, protecting assets and personal information. He encouraged people to regularly update information on cybercrime methods through mass media and social networks, as well as always verify information carefully before making online transactions.

The Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee also emphasized the importance of disseminating andeducating the community about crime prevention measures. People are encouraged to actively share information about scams and promptly report illegal acts. The Da Nang City Police Department has also opened a hotline to receive reports and will promptly handle cases related to cybercrime.
