Union embarks on new mission

After the merger, the Provincial Federation of Labor (PPL) urgently stabilized all aspects of work, made efforts to implement the targets assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the key work program for the last 6 months of 2025.

After the merger, An Giang province has a total of 823 grassroots trade unions and trade unions; including 241 grassroots trade unions of public service units, 528 grassroots trade unions of enterprises, 54 grassroots trade unions, with 114,891 union members/124,317 workers, civil servants and employees.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor urgently stabilized all aspects of organization - inspection, office - finance, and professional work, and put the activities into order. According to comrade Do Tran Thinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, immediately after the merger, the Provincial Federation of Labor strengthened the grasp of information on enterprises with a large number of workers and employees, operating quite stably, organizing propaganda, mobilizing the establishment of grassroots unions, and developing union members. From July 2025 to present, the Provincial Federation of Labor has mobilized and propagated the establishment of a new enterprise grassroots union in Xuan To Industrial Park, Tinh Bien Ward with more than 500 union members. Currently, there are 5 enterprises registered with the Provincial Federation of Labor to request the establishment of grassroots unions. At the same time, the Provincial Federation of Labor issued a decision to establish 1 ward union (Rach Gia ward) and 1 special zone union (Phu Quoc special zone).

Lots of exciting activities

In commemoration of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025); the 137th anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang's birthday (August 20, 1888 - August 20, 2025); the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Provincial General Confederation of Labor organized many propaganda and education activities to care for the material and spiritual life of cadres, union members and workers.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor organized activities such as: Offering flowers and incense at the Temple of President Ton Duc Thang; visiting and presenting gifts to 34 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the province; visiting and presenting 200 gifts to union members and employees in difficult circumstances at 10 enterprises. The Provincial Federation of Labor and the Trade Union organized a "Trade Union Meal" for union members with delicious and nutritious meals. According to the report of the Trade Unions, more than 13,000 union members and employees attended the "Trade Union Meal", with a total budget of more than 840 million VND; of which, the Provincial Federation of Labor supported 100 million VND, the Trade Union budget was more than 518 million VND, and the remaining units and enterprises accompanied. The Provincial Federation of Labor supported the construction of 7 "Trade Union Shelters" for union members in difficult housing circumstances; Organized voluntary blood donation campaigns at 3 enterprises, with 317 workers and employees participating...

Along with that, the Provincial Federation of Labor visited, presented gifts and worked with many enterprises on the situation of production, business, labor, employment, income; grasped the thoughts and aspirations of union members and employees; cared for the spiritual and material life of union members and employees, recorded the difficulties, problems and proposals, recommendations of enterprises, shared information on the activities of the grassroots trade union. Thereby, promoting the role and responsibility of the trade union organization in accompanying enterprises, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.

According to comrade Do Tran Thinh, continuing to promote the achieved results, the Provincial Federation of Labor continues to make efforts, step by step overcome difficulties to achieve the targets and tasks of the Trade Union in the last 6 months of the year with the main targets such as: Actual development to increase 8,000 union members; strive for more than 90% of enterprises with 20 or more employees to be eligible to establish a grassroots trade union organization; strive to establish trade unions in communes, wards, and special economic zones that meet the conditions according to the guidance of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; strive to develop 3 grassroots trade unions in the informal sector. Strive for 90% or more of state-owned trade unions and 70% of non-state-owned trade unions and trade unions to be classified as having completed their tasks well.

“In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor dialogued and negotiated with employers to increase the value of shift meals at 9 enterprises compared to the prescribed level; 18 enterprise-level trade unions negotiated to support shift meals (for the first time). 35 enterprise-level trade unions signed new collective labor agreements; 200 enterprise-level trade unions organized labor conferences; 180 enterprise-level trade unions organized periodic dialogues. Supported the construction and repair of at least 30 “Union Shelters” for union members with difficult housing circumstances...”, Comrade Do Tran Thinh emphasized.
