On July 24, the M-TALKS 2025 forum with the theme "Opportunities to break through the value chain of Vietnam's mechanical and manufacturing industry" took place in Ho Chi Minh City. The event attracted over 250 delegates and prestigious speakers from international organizations, industries, businesses and experts.
At the forum, speakers all commented that the Vietnamese mechanical engineering industry has witnessed a strong transformation in the fields of metalworking, automation and precision manufacturing. Technologies such as CNC machine tools, industrial robots and automation solutions are helping to improve production capacity and reduce costs for businesses, opening up opportunities to increase productivity and integrate into the global supply chain.
However, to successfully transform, businesses still face many difficulties such as lack of research and development (R&D) resources, outdated technology and limited competitiveness. Investing in new technology, upgrading infrastructure and improving production processes are prerequisites for the development of Vietnam's mechanical engineering industry.
Dr. Truong Thi Chi Binh, Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Supporting Industries (VASI), shared that Vietnam's mechanical engineering industry is facing great opportunities, especially in the context of the strong growth of the automobile market and manufacturing industry. Processing and manufacturing of key components for the automobile, motorbike, electronics, and household appliances industries creates great opportunities for domestic enterprises.
Not only that, the potential of the mechanical industry also comes from the trend of localizing the supply chain, with areas such as automation, precision machining and manufacturing of machinery and equipment for the automotive and electronics industries experiencing strong growth. Meanwhile, Vietnam is becoming an important manufacturing center in the region and the mechanical industry is expected to continue to grow strongly thanks to policies to attract investment and develop infrastructure.
On the other hand, the strong recovery of the processing and manufacturing industry, especially with the amount of FDI poured into the manufacturing industry, has further increased the potential of Vietnam's mechanical engineering industry. Accordingly, Vietnam is gradually becoming an important link in the global supply chain.
To support Vietnamese enterprises in accessing new technologies, connecting with international partners and enhancing competitiveness, METALEX Vietnam 2025 will be held from October 1-3, 2025 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). The exhibition will introduce a comprehensive technology ecosystem, serving the needs of upgrading production lines, investing in equipment and digital transformation in the mechanical industry.
More than just a trade show, METALEX Vietnam 2025 is also an integrated ecosystem, with activities such as a series of seminars, business networking programs, factory tours and Sourcing Zones. National pavilions from Japan, Korea, Germany, Thailand and China will open up opportunities for cooperation, technology transfer and product distribution.
Within the framework of the M-TALKS 2025 forum, Mr. Tran Hong Quan, Commercial Director of RX Tradex - the organizer of METALEX Vietnam 2025, expects the exhibition to be an important bridge between technology, market and global supply chain. The exhibition is expected to gather more than 250 international brands and more than 15,000 visitors from more than 30 countries.
