By the end of 2021, the whole province will have 64/64 communes meeting new rural standards; by the end of 2022, the province will have 27/64 communes meeting advanced NTM standards and 10/64 communes meeting model NTM standards.
To date, the entire Quang Ninh province has no more poor households according to the Central poverty standards. The average income per capita in 67 communes and towns in ethnic minority, mountainous, border and island areas of the province reached 73.348 million VND/person/year (an increase of 29.648 million VND/person/year compared to 2020).
Mr. Ly Tai Thong, a prestigious person of Tan Dan commune, Ha Long city, expressed: "In recent times, Quang Ninh province has had many solutions to improve the lives of Tan Dan people and ethnic minority areas in the province. As prestigious people, we are also trained in knowledge and information to promptly propagate and mobilize people; at the same time, convey people's thoughts and aspirations to state agencies for timely resolution according to regulations."
With its efforts, Quang Ninh province has completed the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021-2025 period 3 years ahead of schedule and implemented a multidimensional poverty standard applied in the 2023-2025 period 1.4 times higher than the Central poverty standard.
Based on the resolutions of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, the preservation and promotion of ethnic minority cultural values are increasingly enhanced. Many intangible cultural values such as: The Dao people's initiation ceremony, the San Chi people's Soong Co festival, the Tay people's Then practice, etc. have been recognized as typical heritage values and included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Up to now, Quang Ninh province has 19 Excellent Artisans in the field of intangible cultural heritage who are ethnic minorities. The whole province currently has 55 Traditional Art Clubs of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas established, consolidated and expanded, aiming at quality, depth, efficiency, attracting a large number of people to participate and enjoy.
Along with that, localities have promoted the implementation of cultural preservation policies associated with tourism development; many relics and festivals have been exploited and promoted, with the orientation of sustainable tourism products of ethnic groups; some localities have invested in developing community tourism models, initially creating a number of unique tourism products...
Ms. An Thi Thin, Deputy Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee of Quang Ninh province affirmed: Over the past 5 years, Quang Ninh province has remained steadfast in its viewpoint and goal of sustainable development of ethnic minority areas in all fields as a strategic and urgent issue.
In particular, the concretization of implementation at the Party Committee and government levels in Quang Ninh province is always creative and drastic. Thanks to that, the quality of economic and social life in ethnic minority and mountainous areas of the province has had many positive changes. This is the core factor for sustainable development of ethnic minority areas in Quang Ninh province in the following years.
