On July 26, Phu Loi Ward Party Committee held its first Congress for the 2025-2030 term. This is a model Congress of the ward-level Party Committee of Can Tho City.
Phu Loi Ward (merged Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, and Ward 4 of the old Soc Trang City) with a total area of 26.29 km 2 , population of more than 84,700 people. The entire Phu Loi Ward Party Committee currently has 67 Party cells and affiliated Party Committees, with 3,693 Party members.
In the 2020-2025 term, despite facing many difficulties such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, etc., the Party Committee and people of Phu Loi ward have united and made efforts to successfully implement 15/15 targets, many of which exceeded the plan. In particular, the total budget revenue during this period reached 206.8 billion VND, equal to 102.7% of the target; the poverty rate decreased to less than 0.1%; the rate of people participating in health insurance reached more than 96%...

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the 1st Congress of Phu Loi Ward set the goal of becoming a "Friendly - Affectionate Ward", striving to become a development pole in the Southern region of Can Tho by 2030. Some specific targets, such as: annual budget revenue increases by about 15%/year; total production value reaches 16,628 billion VND; over 90% of party members are classified as "Completing tasks well"; over 99% of the population uses clean water; 100% of household waste is treated according to regulations...
The Congress approved the Phu Loi Ward Party Executive Committee for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 33 members. Comrade Thai Dang Khoa holds the position of Secretary of Phu Loi Ward.
Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Van Lau gave a speech directing the congress
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Tran Van Van Lau, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, requested Phu Loi Ward Party Committee to continue to maintain, consolidate and foster solidarity and unity within the Party Committee and the entire political system; arouse the will of "self-reliance and self-strengthening", turning difficulties and challenges into motivation and combined strength to achieve the goal of "People having a prosperous, civilized and happy life"; effectively mobilize all resources for economic and social development, along with social progress and equality.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City noted, "Commune and ward officials need to have political courage, moral qualities, capacity, professional qualifications, innovative, creative and dynamic thinking; dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, dare to innovate, overcome difficulties and challenges and act for the common good; take people's satisfaction and happiness index as a measure and criterion for evaluating work results".
