Masjid Nourul Ehsaan Mosque is designed in the traditional Islamic architectural style typical of Muslim countries such as Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. The overall structure is rectangular, flat-roofed, with two main colors: white and turquoise.
The typical architecture of a mosque usually focuses on the chapel, which is built in a rectangular shape. Photo: Thuy Tien |
The mosque's chapel area covers an area of about 700 square meters . On the roof of the house are built four towers with pointed tops. In the middle of the mosque is a larger round tower, like an upside-down bowl, with the symbol of a crescent moon and a five-pointed star, typical symbols of Islam.

Mr. Ab Do Ha Mit, Imam of Masjid Nourul Ehsaan Mosque said: "The chapel, where the congregation gathers for daily prayers and religious activities, is built in a rectangular shape and the direction of the ceremony is always facing the West, towards Mecca when praying."
Around the surface of the church, the soft curved domes create harmony and balance in the architecture. The corridors are built airy and cool, while the inside of the church is built very simply.

The difference between Xuan Loc Mosque and other places is the construction of a mezzanine with a curtain reserved for women to attend the ceremony.
“Men and women cannot worship together, so right from the design stage, we proactively built a mezzanine for women, especially during the fasting month. This is both a religious regulation and a demonstration of mutual respect in the community,” added Ab Do Ha Mit, the abbot.
Cultural space and community activities
For Muslims, there are 5 times to pray in a day: before sunrise, before noon, late afternoon, evening and before going to bed. The prayer time is about 10-15 minutes.

“Those who live near the mosque and have convenient access to it usually gather at the mosque to perform the ritual five times a day as prescribed. However, those who live far away or are busy with work can perform the ritual at home,” said Ab Do Ha Mit, the chief priest.
In particular, every Friday is the most important holiday, everyone gathers at the church to attend mass and listen to sermons. At the same time, the priest or other dignitaries also integrate and remind parishioners about legal information, be alert to social evils, and many other cultural and social activities.

Mr. Go Sa Ly (Xuan Hung commune, Xuan Loc district) expressed: “Every time I enter the church, I feel calm, not only to pray, but also to meet people, discuss family matters, children, studies... The priest not only preaches but also reminds us about the law, traffic awareness, and building a life”.

Masjid Nourul Ehsaan is not only a unique religious architectural work, but also a place for the Cham Muslim community to meet, exchange and preserve cultural identity. Besides Masjid Nourul Ehsaan, Xuan Hung commune currently has two other small mosques, serving smaller population groups.
