Following the success of the TV show series, Sao Nhap Ngu has now appeared on the concert stage, gathering artists who participated in previous seasons. Notably, the above mentioned music event is also held at a meaningful time, when the country is looking forward to celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Besides prominent Vpop performers such as Soobin, Chi Pu or Duong Hoang Yen, the Sao nhap ngu concert also has the accompaniment of an experienced crew. Among them, we must mention the trio: music director SlimV, stage director Dinh Ha Uyen Thu and lighting director Long Kenji - the names that created the success of the Anh trai vu ngan cong gai concert series.
Music expresses the soldier's feelings
It is easy to see that the Sao Nhap Ngu concert is divided into two distinct parts. For more than half of the first half, the program uses music to depict the ups and downs and thoughts in the life of a soldier. In the second half, when the country has gained independence, the performances gradually become cheerful, with melodies that evoke pride in the homeland and the nation.
The music in the program does not stop at the listening experience, but also becomes meaningful pieces, leading the audience to delve into the emotions of the revolutionary soldier. From the fiery atmosphere of the day of the army's departure ( Singing the military march forever ), nostalgia for the homeland ( Returning ), comradely love ( Miracle ), love between couples ( Wherever your car goes, I follow ), nostalgia for family ( Behind Dad ), to the story of those who sacrificed on the battlefield ( If one day I fly to the sky ), the mother in the rear whose child went to war ( I love you, Mom ), and then ending with the joy of victory ( As if Uncle Ho were here on the day of great victory ).
Similar to recent “patriotic” concerts, the music in Sao Nhap Ngu also follows the trend of combining traditional materials with modern sounds of pop, hip hop and EDM. In addition, many performances use EDM drops for stage performances and mix many traditional instruments, similar to what SlimV did in Anh trai vu ngan cong gai.
However, it seems that this time, SlimV has also made some changes, focusing more on emphasizing traditional elements. In the revolutionary music performances, it is easy to see that the artists still maintain the singing style in the spirit of the original songs, only the arrangement is renewed to suit the young audience and the storytelling.
For example in The girls opened the way , the female artists' voices were loud and decisive, with a few short slurs to keep the softness, thereby evoking revolutionary lyricism on the background of a modern pop arrangement. Or with Spring in the War Zone , although arranged in an electronic direction, the song has a bustling, fresh, spring-like spirit but still has an atmosphere of encouragement and fighting spirit.
Thanks to careful calculations in both the story line and the music, the image of the soldier appears vividly and multi-dimensionally, helping the audience both understand the thoughts and appreciate the journey of the previous generation. Although there are still some details that create a feeling of awkwardness, such as when Jun Pham encounters a bomb crater and suddenly remembers his father; but thanks to the emotional music, those small awkwardnesses do not affect the audience's experience much.
In the individual performance, it can be seen that Duong Hoang Yen had a stage of a lifetime. Her bright, powerful and dramatic voice showed great suitability with the spirit of the program. The female singer participated in many performances, and each time she appeared, she left an impression, from her pure, shy emotions to Wherever your car goes, I follow ; passionately in I love you, Mom ; or the sublimation while singing The way we go .
Soobin, although not appearing much, was always given key moments to shine, making every time he stepped onto the stage create a strong effect. Meanwhile, Chi Pu, whose strength is in performance rather than singing, did not show much in this concert. However, her appearance in some performances, especially revolutionary songs, brought a certain amount of interest.
Impressive staging
When the soldier part ended, the concert switched to cheerful melodies praising peaceful life. At this time, youthful compositions were accompanied by heroic songs. However, from here, the concert began to cool down when the unique musical and content features were fully exploited in the previous part.
Not to mention, in this part, some works when renewed, are less impressive than the original version, for example, Mountain People Quality by Double2T - Hau Hoang or Rose performed by Chi Pu - Huong Giang. Many artists also abuse playback (singing over), making the live listening experience less authentic, while technical problems such as mic shutdown or backstage echoes still occur.
It was not until near the end that the atmosphere became lively again when Hoa Minzy and Truc Nhan appeared with songs associated with their names. North Bling, Turn On The Love bring fresh energy, and Four words still has the power to stir up the audience after many years. Thanks to that, the atmosphere is pushed higher, creating a highlight for the end of the program.
In terms of visuals, Long Kenji's participation helps Sao Nhap Ngu achieve a stage quality almost equal to Anh Trai Truc Ngan Cong Gai. From the lighting layout to the way the lights are projected, everything creates a strong visual effect, bringing a satisfying experience.
The stage design is visually impressive, especially with the marching performances of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Border Guard soldiers. Scenes such as the bumpy Truong Son road or the military skills demonstration also bring a relatively special experience, hard to find in other concerts.
Despite some limitations, Sao Nhap Ngu overall delivered a quality concert, even exceeding the initial expectations of many audiences. The event also contributed to creating a vibrant atmosphere, promoting patriotism on a solemn occasion of the country.
