Sterling will find it difficult to stay at Chelsea.

On August 4, Chelsea announced the list of 31 players in the official squad for the 2025/26 season on the website, including all the new players that the club recruited this summer.

There are nine players missing from the list, including Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga, Alfie Gilchrist, Carney Chukwuemeka, Lesley Ugochukwu, Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana.

Sterling left Chelsea to join Arsenal on loan last season, but returned to Stamford Bridge after failing to make an impact at the Emirates. The former Man City star has been linked with a number of clubs including Napoli, Fulham and Bayer Leverkusen.

The Sun reports that Chelsea are hoping to recoup around £20m from the sale of Sterling. The Blues want to sell him outright in the summer of 2025 rather than let him leave on loan.

Meanwhile, coach Enzo Maresca still decided to include Christopher Nkunku in the squad, despite the player having just experienced a disappointing period of performance. However, the possibility of Nkunku leaving the team this summer is still possible.

Chelsea are scheduled to play pre-season friendlies against Leverkusen and AC Milan at home on August 9 and 10, before kicking off the new season with a match against Crystal Palace on August 17.

PSG suffered a crushing defeat to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final. Early morning on July 14, PSG lost to Chelsea 0-3 in the match to decide the Club World Cup title.
