At 3:00 p.m. on July 10, the functional forces of Ba Diem commune coordinated with the fire fighting force of Ho Chi Minh City Police to try to extinguish the fire at the scrap yard near Kinh Trung Uong street.

According to initial information, at around 1pm the same day, people discovered a fire at a scrap yard in Ba Diem commune, Ho Chi Minh City. People used fire extinguishers to put out the fire but were unsuccessful. The fire quickly spread, sending black smoke covering the entire area.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police dispatched many vehicles and dozens of officers and soldiers to the scene. Firefighters divided into many directions to approach the fire, prevent the fire from spreading, and protect adjacent warehouses. Many large capacity pumps were mobilized to pump water directly from nearby canals to fight the fire.

Firefighters immersed themselves in the canal to handle the trash, avoiding clogging the pump pipes so as not to interrupt the water supply for fire fighting.
After more than 15 hours of the same day, the fire was basically under control. Authorities continued to use water cannons to put out the fire inside the scrap yard.

According to local residents, this land is currently rented out and surrounded by temporary fences and corrugated iron. Many people rent the land to store scrap metal.
The fire caused the corrugated iron roof and iron frame inside the scrap yard to collapse, fortunately causing no casualties. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
