U23 Vietnam's opponents have arrived in Phu Tho, preparing for the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers.

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that the opponents in Group C of the Vietnam U23 team have all arrived in Viet Tri (Phu Tho) to prepare for the qualifying round of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.

According to VFF, on the evening of September 1, the Singapore U23 team led by coach Firdaus Kassim arrived in Phu Tho , ready to compete in Group C of the 2026 AFC U23 Championship qualifiers.

U23 Singapore brings 24 players to the qualifying round

To prepare for the tournament, U23 Singapore brought 24 players, many of whom are playing in the S.League National Championship.

Notably, the team features Japanese defender Junki Yoshimura, a player on the payroll of Albirex Niigata Singapore Club.

Although the team arrived in Vietnam the latest compared to U23 Bangladesh and U23 Yemen, U23 Singapore still had thorough preparation after going through a training trip in Portugal in early August.

U23 Yemen is the main competitor of U23 Vietnam

In the list of players registered to participate in the qualifying round, U23 Yemen only has one player playing abroad, goalkeeper Muhammad Ramadan Shuey Jumaan (Saudi Arabia), the remaining 22 players are all playing for domestic clubs.

Meanwhile, U23 Bangladesh is the first international team in the 2026 AFC U23 qualifiers to come to Vietnam.

Bangladesh's squad for this year's qualifiers is notable for the presence of Cuban naturalized striker Mitchell - who has three bloodlines: English, Jamaican and Bangladeshi, and has played for youth teams in England such as Birmingham and Sunderland.

To prepare for the 2026 AFC U23 qualifiers, Bangladesh had two friendly matches with Bahrain U23 and lost both with scores of 0-1 and 2-4.

Coach AKM Saiful Bari Titu's team is also the first opponent of the Vietnam U23 team in this year's tournament with the match taking place at 7:00 p.m. on September 3 at Viet Tri Stadium.
