Tonight (July 10), the Vietnam U20 women's team will leave for Japan for training after 10 days of training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ).
During the training period in Hanoi, head coach Okiyama Masahiki and his assistants spent most of their time training the players, combining testing the squad with two practice matches. In addition to the internal match, the Vietnam U20 women's team played a friendly match with Thai Nguyen U19 women's club on the afternoon of July 9, winning 5-2.
Evaluating his players, coach Okiyama Masahiki said the team still has many issues that need to be improved in the coming time.
"Currently, the team is focusing and following the training plan of the coaching staff. In the match against the Thai Nguyen U19 women's team, although the opponent was fast, the players of the U20 women's team performed quite well," said the Japanese coach.
According to the plan, the Vietnam U20 women's team will have 10 days of training in Hamamatsu City (Shizuoka Prefecture) and have 5 friendly matches. Of which, 2 matches will be against opponents from Shizuoka Sangyo University and Aichi Toho University, and 3 matches will be against high school soccer teams.
On July 21, the Vietnam U20 women's team will return to Hanoi, entering the final preparation stage for the 2026 AFC U20 Women's Championship qualifying round taking place in early August at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center.
