Before this match, U21 Vietnam and U21 Argentina were the two teams with the best performance in group A and had already secured tickets to the round of 16.
However, both teams were determined to win to take the top spot in the group. So they started with their strongest lineups.
A surprising development occurred in set 1. The diverse attacking ability of the Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team made the opponent confused and unable to defend. Dang Thi Hong continued to shine with important points. Coach Nguyen Trong Linh's team won with a score of up to 25-10.
Such a big gap against the strongest team in the group was something no one could have thought of before the match.
In set 2, the Southeast Asian representative continued to cause difficulties for their opponents. But with their class, U21 Argentina gradually turned the tables and won 25-20 in this set.
It was not until set 3 that the South American team showed their true form. They defended tightly, not giving U21 Vietnam many opportunities to attack. Coach Nguyen Trong Linh's players were also under psychological pressure. When they were constantly blocked, they appeared confused and made mistakes from step one to pass two. As a result, U21 Argentina won 25-15.
In set 4, the Vietnamese girls improved significantly compared to before. But then U21 Argentina was still too superior to win 25-15, thereby winning 3-1 overall.
This is the first loss of the Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team at the 2025 U21 World Championship.
