Beijing hopes to get US-China relations back on “the right track” through Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit to Washington this week, according to China’s Foreign Ministry .

On October 24, the Chinese Foreign Ministry called on the United States to strengthen cooperation with Beijing to expand substantive cooperation and properly resolve differences, as well as bring bilateral relations back onto the track of healthy and stable development.

Ms. Mao Ming, spokesperson of the Ministry, said that the Chinese Foreign Minister will visit the US from October 26-28, to "exchange views in depth with US leaders on China-US relations as well as international and regional issues of mutual concern".

Previously, on October 23, the US State Department announced that Secretary of State Antony Blinken will receive Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Washington DC this week.

On this occasion, Secretary Blinken and his counterpart Wang Yi will discuss a range of bilateral, regional and global issues, as part of ongoing efforts to responsibly manage the US-China relationship and maintain open channels of communication.

In addition, the US side affirmed that it will continue to use diplomacy to promote Washington's interests and values, resolve disagreements and overcome transnational challenges.

Another source revealed that Mr. Wang Yi will also meet with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan during this upcoming visit.
