In the second half of 2025, big names like Aespa, Twice and BlackPink all joined the music race. According to the Korea Herald , this comeback is considered a necessary breath of fresh air to "rekindle" the global K-pop market, which is showing signs of slowing down.
At the same time, the public is also looking forward to the comeback of the "global music group" BTS when the last member, Suga, will complete his military service on June 21.
According to Korean media, BTS is expected to return with a full lineup in March 2026. Experts predict that before the official comeback, the group will likely release a single or special music product to heat up the market.
Summer is on fire with BlackPink, Aespa...
Aespa - SM Entertainment's most prominent "fighters" - stir up the summer with the single Dirty Work, scheduled to be released on July 27. The single includes 4 versions, including a collaboration with American rapper Flo Milli, an English version and an instrumental version.

With consecutive million-selling albums such as Armageddon, Supernova and Whiplash , many predict that the 4 members will continue their success in the new album and global tour, affirming their position as one of the leading girl groups of the new generation of K-pop.
Meanwhile, Twice is also ready to return with many activities to mark the 10-year milestone of their debut.
The group released their fourth studio album This is For on July 11, the same name as their current world tour.
Immediately after that, the 9 girls from JYP Entertainment will hold two consecutive concert nights at Inspire Arena on July 19 and 20. This is Twice's first stage in Korea after a year of absence, a memorable milestone in the journey to celebrate a decade of activity.

After more than 3 years of silence to focus on pursuing their personal careers, BlackPink is also preparing to return.
On the morning of June 19, Korean media simultaneously reported that the group's new album will be released in early July this year, marking the reunion of the 4 members since Born Pink was released in September 2022.
Regarding this information, YG Entertainment "hinted": "We will announce it through BlackPink's official schedule."

In particular, BlackPink will hold the BlackPink World Tour Deadline concert in Goyang on July 5 and 6. Immediately after that, the group will launch a global tour with 31 shows in 16 major cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Milan, London, Bangkok, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
The Korea Herald assessed that the consecutive comebacks of girl groups and BTS have special significance because they take place in the context of the gloomy K-pop market, lacking big names.
According to data from Circle Chart, physical album sales in 2023 fell 19.4% year-over-year, from 115.78 million to 93.28 million, the first decline since 2015. Digital music also saw a 7.6% drop in streaming.

Industry experts say that although the market has slowed down, the appeal of big names like BTS, BlackPink, Aespa or Twice is still strong enough to create a new wave, attracting the attention of global fans.
"Internationally, BTS and BlackPink still hold the top positions with outstanding influence. If Aespa and Twice continue to make impressive comebacks, K-pop is likely to experience a clear wave of revival.
It may not be a huge explosion, but it will certainly be a positive sign, opening a new and promising development phase," commented music critic Lim Hee Yoon.
