The Central Maternity Hospital ( Hanoi ) has just shared information about the scams of some subjects at the hospital that caused an ethnic woman to fall into a deadlock. The victim was Ms. HTTrang (41 years old, Tay ethnic, from Bac Kan) and her daughter went to the Central Maternity Hospital for a medical examination.
Ms. Trang has heart disease and recently had a mitral valve replacement surgery. Her health is poor and her menstrual bleeding lasted for nearly 20 days, causing her body to become exhausted due to severe anemia and high white blood cell count. Her family is a farmer with an unstable income, so all the medical expenses are a heavy burden.
While waiting for the examination in a tired and anxious state, a strange woman approached her, claiming to be "her relative", promising to help with the hospital admission procedures quickly.
Trusting this person, Ms. Trang gave them 5 million VND - the small amount of money she had brought with her, probably all her savings for this hospital visit. After getting the money, the woman disappeared.
Realizing she had been scammed, Ms. Trang collapsed, lost money, had not been examined, was sick, and did not know what to do.
As soon as they learned of the incident, the medical examination department staff and social work staff proactively coordinated with the hospital's security team to collect information. The medical staff joined hands to mobilize donations and support her with nearly 8 million VND.
Through initial examination, it was found that she had a history of heart disease, so the hospital sent an ambulance to take her to Hanoi Heart Hospital for examination and consultation before transferring her to the Central Maternity Hospital for safe hospitalization.
At the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, social workers continued to meet and encourage Trang and her child, and assisted with hospital admission procedures. Free meals were distributed on the same day, and hospital fee reduction applications were also processed promptly to help share some of the financial burden.
Afterwards, the doctors consulted and admitted her to the hospital for the day to treat uterine polyps - the cause of prolonged menstrual bleeding and severe anemia.
The hospital also recommends that patients and their families be extremely vigilant and only accept information and instructions from official medical staff. Absolutely do not listen to strangers to avoid unnecessary losses in terms of money, health and timely treatment opportunities.
