On October 14, Dak Mil District Police (Dak Nong) announced that they had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and issue a temporary detention order against Nguyen Thanh Trung (born in 1990), Deputy Military Commander of Dak R'la Commune, for the act of "fraudulent appropriation of property".

Initial investigation results show that Mr. HLA is a citizen of Dak R'la commune, has passed the preliminary round of military service examination at the commune level and is eligible to be called for military service examination at the district level.

When he learned that Mr. A. did not want to join the military in 2024, Nguyen Thanh Trung told his family that he could avoid military service for 40 million VND.

Because they trusted Nguyen Thanh Trung, Mr. A's family transferred 20 million VND to Trung in advance, the remaining amount would be transferred later.

When Mr. A's family found out that Trung was not on the district-level military service examination and approval board and was therefore unable to help Mr. A as promised, they filed a complaint with the police.

On October 6, Nguyen Thanh Trung asked Mr. A's family to pay an additional 20 million VND as agreed. While receiving the money, he was arrested by the police along with the evidence.
