Gangster boss Thao 'lui' caught

On June 6, VTC News sources learned that Binh Thuan Provincial Police in coordination with the Criminal Police Department, Ministry of Public Security and Ho Chi Minh City Police arrested gangster Nguyen Van Thao (aka Thao "lui", 59 years old, residing in Xuan An ward, Phan Thiet city) in Ho Chi Minh City in the early morning of June 6.

Currently, Thao has been extradited from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Thuan to serve the investigation.

Thao 'lui' is known as a boss in the underworld in Binh Thuan.

Previously, on the afternoon of June 3, a police force of hundreds of officers and soldiers from many forces came to search one of Nguyen Van Thao's villas in Xuan An ward, Phan Thiet city. The investigation agency seized many documents and evidence to serve the investigation at this villa and at the same time arrested a person believed to be Nguyen Van Thao's son.

The search is part of a special project of the Provincial Police to handle a citizen's crime report related to property destruction at a project in Phan Thiet City.

Subject Thao "lui" is also suspected of being involved in a drug trafficking ring that Binh Thuan police have just set up a special project to destroy.

The case is under further investigation.
