Thanh Tung has been a member of the school's Olympia Lighting Club since grade 10, which gathers students who are passionate about learning, exploring and love the Road to Olympia competition. Winning first prize in the school-level Olympia Lighting Competition and being selected to represent the school to participate in the competition organized by Vietnam Television, Tung's initial goal was only to win first prize of the week. Through each round, he demonstrated his determination, competed with all his might and proved his mettle. Entering the quarter round as the second-place contestant with the highest score in the monthly round, Tung had an excellent performance, surpassing the remaining contestants. After the warm-up round, which only achieved a score similar to that of the members of the "mountain climbing team", in the obstacle course, Tung quickly gave the correct answer to the mysterious crossword puzzle when only one horizontal row was opened, helping him break through in terms of score. In the following rounds, Tung maintained his leading position and excellently won the laurel wreath with 255 points.
