After informing about the general problems of the school and the class, the homeroom teacher suddenly made a cute suggestion: inviting parents to take two "tests" prepared by the teacher, to try to assess the level of understanding of the child's learning situation as well as "listen" to their secret confidences.
Surprise and thrill

It had been a long time since they had participated in a game like this, so everyone was excited. Most of the parents were able to answer the teacher's questions, proving that they still spent time following their children's learning progress quite closely.
At the end of the first game, the teacher was quite thoughtful when giving three small gifts to the three parents with the highest scores.
In the second part, she sent 15 short questions for parents to answer on paper. This time, it was about parents' understanding of their children's feelings, interests in studying, entertainment, friendships, and future dreams. This part seemed more difficult, sometimes parents and children did not have anything in common, partly because there were few opportunities for sharing with each other in the family.
After completing the task, parents will check the answers with the answer sheet that their children have completed before. Many parents seem satisfied if their answers match the children's answers. Some are a bit thoughtful and confused...

For the first time, after many meetings of the parent-teacher association, I felt very satisfied and happy because the first meeting of the year had many necessary "messages", focusing on the children. This was completely different from the atmosphere of the usual tense parent-teacher meetings, revolving around money, collecting this and reducing that...
The homeroom teacher was quite good when he somehow persuaded some experienced parents to join the representative board before the meeting. So when it came to the agenda, it was mainly the consensus of the parents on the main issues, avoiding long silences or "looking back and forth", "giving back and forth" the "position" of the parent representative board. Because most people were afraid of gossip and did not have time to take care of it.
The meeting was light-hearted, lasting about an hour with everyone's high consensus. Before leaving, the homeroom teacher did not forget to remind parents about the psychological factors of children aged 14-15, what to do and coordinate with her, to guide the children to study and absorb knowledge in the most comfortable and effective way.
I hope there will be more parent meetings like this, so that the perspective on the education sector can be more friendly, avoiding some "unfair rumors" at the beginning of the school year. Between the school and parents, we can find a common voice, for the purpose of understanding and educating our children, rather than the familiar, "timely" topic revolving around the debate about air conditioning, the level of support fees for facilities, movement activities... like today.
The effect of the test
Thanks to the two tests, parents feel closer to their children's thoughts at a rebellious age, and are more sympathetic to "different ways of thinking" so they can adjust their sharing with their children accordingly.
