However, in the tie-break, Sabalenka played more calmly, taking full advantage of her opponent's errors to win 7-3. In the end, Sabalenka won 6-3, 7-6 (3) after 1 hour and 36 minutes, thereby successfully defending the US Open championship and closing out 2025 with at least one Grand Slam in hand.

The victory helped Sabalenka become the first woman since Serena Williams to successfully defend the US Open title. Not only that, the 27-year-old also reached the milestone of 100 wins at Grand Slam tournaments.
