Arsenal suffer heavy losses after '5-star' victory

Both Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka were injured in Arsenal's match against Leeds, almost certainly missing the clash with Liverpool next week.

Captain Odegaard fell after a collision and appeared to have a dislocated shoulder.

After being treated by doctors, he struggled to play for a few more minutes before leaving the field to make way for Nwaneri.

Bukayo Saka doubled the lead for the Gunners. Unfortunately, he could not complete his own match.

Saka sat out the second half with a muscle problem. Coach Arteta said the English striker's injury was more worrying.

"The injuries to Odegaard and Saka were a minus today. Odegaard felt pain in his shoulder when he landed. He will have a scan tomorrow.

Bukayo was running with the ball when he got a hamstring problem. To the extent that he can't play then it seems serious.

It's only been two weeks of the season and we've lost Havertz, Odegaard and Saka. That shows how well you need to prepare for this tournament."

Arsenal are facing the prospect of going to Anfield next week without three key players, which makes yesterday's signing of Eberechi Eze all the more important.
