9 Vietnamese scientists in the top 10,000 influential scientists in the world in 2024

Vietnam has 9 scientists ranked in the world's top 10,000 and 60 scientists ranked in the world's top 100,000 most influential citation scientists in 2024.

Elsevier Publishing House has recently announced a list of world-influential scientists based on the exploitation of the Scopus database built by a group of scientists from Stanford University (USA). According to the ranking list, Vietnam has 9 scientists ranked in the world's top 10,000 and 60 scientists ranked in the top 100,000 scientists with the world's most influential citations in 2024. Of these, Hanoi National University has 5 scientists on the list of Elsevier Publishing House with 2 scientists in the world's top 10,000 and 3 scientists in the world's top 100,000. Scientists from Hanoi National University are ranked in the group of 10,000 most influential scientists in the world: 1. Professor-Doctor of Science Nguyen Dinh Duc (University of Technology - ranked 7,704 in the world and ranked 78 in the field of Engineering); 2. Associate Professor-Doctor Le Hoang Son (Institute of Information Technology - ranked 6,436 in the world and ranked 303 in the field of Information and Communication Technologies). These are the scientists with the most influential citations in the world for 6 consecutive years from 2019 to present. Other Vietnamese scientists in the group of 10,000 include: 1. Professor-Doctor Tran Xuan Bach (Hanoi Medical University); 2. Professor Vo Xuan Vinh (Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics) 3. Dr. Nguyen Phuc Canh (Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics); 4. Dr. Tran Nguyen Hai (Duy Tan University); 5. Dr. Hoang Nhat Duc (Duy Tan University); 6. Associate Professor - Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Dong A University); 7. Dr. Pham Thai Binh (University of Transport Technology). Expanding the list of top 100,000 scientists, in 2024 Vietnam has 60 scientists, an increase of 13 people compared to last year, of which, Hanoi National University has three scientists from the International School, Hanoi National University: Professor - Dr. Nguyen Duc Khuong (Economics and Business - ranked 32,439 in the world), Dr. Chu Dinh Toi (Clinical Medicine - ranked 28,314 in the world), Dr. Nguyen Viet Cuong (Economics and Business - ranked 42,130 in the world). This year's ranking has no change in the measurement tool as the research team still builds a database of the 100,000 most cited scientists (from Scopus data source). At the same time, it is evaluated by many important criteria such as: impact index in the scientific community (composite score); total number of citations (excluding self-citations); Hirsch h-index; Schreiber hm-index; number of citations for articles published as the sole author (single author); number of citations for articles as the main author... Scientists are divided into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields (industries/specialties)./.
