37 billion VND collected against regulations will be returned to students

The above information was confirmed by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong after Thu Dau Mot University was approved by the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to carry out procedures to refund the amount of money collected in excess of practice credits for students.

Previously, the school had paid the amount of 37 billion VND collected incorrectly in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years to the State budget.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, the number of students is very large, about 20,000, so the review and verification is facing some difficulties. However, with the spirit of ensuring the rights of students, the school is making efforts to complete this process as soon as possible. The refund will be transparent and public. The school will use the financial reserve for the payment.

Regarding Thu Dau Mot University, recently, through inspection work from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2023, the Department of Home Affairs of Binh Duong province discovered many shortcomings and problems of the school.

Specifically, regarding the organizational structure, the school made mistakes in establishing and dissolving units, not complying with regulations on authority. Regarding the management of payroll, the school made mistakes in attracting, compensating and managing labor contracts of civil servants. In particular, the recovery of training costs for cases of studying under Project 911 and cases sent by the school to study was also not in accordance with regulations.

The Chief Inspector of the Department of Home Affairs of Binh Duong province requested Thu Dau Mot University to organize a review and clarify the responsibilities of individuals and organizations involved in allowing the above-mentioned shortcomings and limitations to occur...
