Since 2019, Mr. Son’s family has sponsored tuition fees for 50 poor students with good academic performance in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang until they graduate. Each student will receive 12 million VND at the beginning of the new school year to pay tuition fees.
“Last year, 9 children graduated, this year 10 children also graduated. When they first entered school, they were very poor and had to work hard. Some were orphans and had to fend for themselves. But throughout their studies until graduation, they all had very good academic performance, and after graduating, they also had good jobs, texting me to show off. While studying, they also participated in the Green Summer volunteer program,” he said.
Another friend in his third year of university worked part-time and saved money, received a scholarship from the school, so he gave the tuition support from “Uncle Son” to other friends in more difficult circumstances. “I was happy and touched by that,” he said.
