Touching opening ceremony where teachers become students' eyes
TPO - On the morning of the first day of school at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School (HCMC), teachers and parents lovingly lead blind students to their seats. Here, they not only teach them how to read and write, but also become the "eyes" that light the way, so that they can confidently step into the future.

Students of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School sing the National Anthem at the Opening Ceremony On the morning of September 5, the opening ceremony was bustling, urgent but also very warm at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School - a school for visually impaired students. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hue, Principal of the school, expressed her gratitude to the generations of teachers and students who have contributed to building and developing the school. "The sound of the school drum today is not only the sound signaling a new school year, but also the voice of the heart, conveying faith, hope and determination to continue the journey of educating special generations of students," Ms. Hue said emotionally. This year’s opening ceremony is more special than ever because it is combined with the 80th anniversary of the education sector. Before the ceremony, the teachers carefully tied their scarves and kindly gave instructions to the students. Many children at this special school have multiple disabilities, some are especially sensitive to sound. When loud sounds reverberate, some children reflexively cover their ears. Every day of going to class, the journey of blind students becomes more special than ever. Without light to guide them, they rely on the guidance of their parents and teachers and feel with their hands and ears.
The school's stairs are also specially designed, with handrails to help visually impaired students move safely. On the opening day, under the guidance of teachers, the students gently put their arms around each other's shoulders, slowly walked up the stairs, and together entered the hall to attend the ceremony. Many children prepare glasses, not necessarily to see better, but to help them feel more confident when standing in a crowd. Students are radiant on the first day of school. This morning, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mui (40 years old, living in Dak Lak province) was emotional when taking her two children Mai Ngan and Mai Nhi to school for the opening ceremony. "Having two children is not as fortunate as other children, I just hope my children can go to school and learn to read and write so that their future will be less uncertain."
Like Ms. Mui, many parents lovingly hold their children's hands and take them to school. In addition to the opening ceremony, the school also awarded many scholarships and gifts to students with especially difficult circumstances but with great determination. Many parents looked at each other with affection when they saw their children standing on stage at the opening ceremony.
