PSG's victory over Tottenham in the European Super Cup not only brought the club its fifth trophy of the year, but also marked a historic milestone for Nuno Mendes.
The Portuguese left-back has taken his total number of collective titles to 14. Thereby, he becomes the most successful player in the world at the age of 23.
This unprecedented achievement helps Nuno Mendes surpass top stars like Kylian Mbappe (12 titles), as well as legends Pelé and Lionel Messi (both 11 titles), or Cristiano Ronaldo (10 titles).
Mendes' trophy collection began on January 23, 2021, when he won the Portuguese League Cup with Sporting Lisbon.
With his hometown team, he continued to win the national championship and the Portuguese Super Cup, before moving to PSG.
In Paris, Mendes quickly became an indispensable pillar. He and the French capital team achieved countless successes, including: 4 Ligue 1 championships, 2 French Cups, 2 French Super Cups and notably 1 Champions League championship. In addition, he also won the UEFA Nations League title with the Portuguese team.
With 14 major trophies in less than five years and a long career ahead of him, that tally is only set to rise, cementing Mendes' status as one of the most successful young talents in football history.
