The 2025 Women's Volleyball World Cup will take place from August 22 to September 7 in Thailand, with 32 teams from all continents. According to the draw, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is in Group G with Poland, Germany and Kenya. This group will compete in Phuket. The top two teams will advance to the round of 16.
As of the morning of August 23, no TV station in Vietnam has the copyright to broadcast the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship. This means that Vietnamese volleyball fans will not be able to watch the tournament live on TV channels.

Right in the opening match, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team faced a huge challenge named Poland. On the rankings of the International Women's Volleyball Federation (FIVB), Poland is ranked 3rd, 19 places higher than the Vietnamese women's volleyball team.
In the last three FIVB Nations League seasons of 2023, 2024 and 2025, this team won the Bronze Medal. Among them, Poland has many players with very good height such as Magdalena Stysiak (2.03 m), Agnieszka Korneluk (2 m), Weronika Centka-Tietianiec and Martyna Czyrnianska (both 1.93 m).
The average height of Poland is an impressive 1.86m. Meanwhile, the figure of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is only 1.77m. That shows the certain disadvantage of the Vietnamese girls in the opening match.
Over the years, we have achieved some successes such as winning the Asian second division championship AVC Challenge Cup 2023 and 2024, winning the bronze medal at the FIVB Challenger Cup 2024 or most recently, for the first time in history, defeating Thailand to win the second round of the SEA V-League (Southeast Asian women's volleyball tournament).

Of course, these achievements are still quite modest compared to Poland. Before the tournament, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team also received bad news when Bich Tuyen withdrew. This is a huge loss for us because Bich Tuyen is the team's leading "scorer". She contributed 45 points to help the Vietnamese women's volleyball team defeat Thailand to win the V-League championship.
Recently, fans have been wondering who will replace Bich Tuyen in the opposite setter position. In the friendly match with Kenya before the tournament, Coach Tuan Kiet tested Vi Thi Nhu Quynh in this position and she played relatively well.
In addition, Coach Tuan Kiet still has another option, Kieu Trinh, who played very well in the opposite setter position before Bich Tuyen returned in 2024. Thanh Thuy is also a possible option in this position.
