Imported gasoline from Singapore has the highest price

According to the General Statistics Office (GSO), in June 2024, Vietnam imported 900,000 tons of petroleum worth 675 million USD, down 14.1% in volume and 10.4% in value compared to the same period last year. In general, in the first 6 months of 2024, Vietnam imported 5.54 million tons of petroleum, up 6.3% over the same period last year, with a value of 4.47 billion USD, up 7.4%.

Regarding the market, according to the latest data released by the General Department of Customs, in the first 5 months of 2024, Vietnam imported petroleum from 5 main markets. Of which, Malaysia is the largest market supplying imported petroleum to Vietnam with 1.15 billion USD in value and 1.41 million tons, up 123.5% in value and up to 112% in volume compared to the same period last year.

Coming in second place is the Korean market with 1.1 billion USD and 1.4 million tons, down 18.7% in value and 15.7% in volume over the same period.

Ranked third is the Singapore market with 944 million USD and 1.1 million tons, up 7% in value and 4.3% in volume over the same period.

China ranked 4th with 414 million USD and 494,147 tons, up 22.1% in value and 24.6% in volume over the same period.

Petroleum imports from the Thai market in the first 5 months of 2024 reached 107.5 million USD in value and 126,334 tons, down 61.8% in value and 62.4% in volume over the same period.

Regarding import prices, imported gasoline from Singapore had the highest price at 855.2 USD/ton in the first 5 months of 2024. Following were Thailand at 851.4 USD/ton, China at 839.5 USD/ton, Malaysia at 813.7 USD/ton. South Korea was the market with the lowest imported gasoline price at 780.8 USD/ton.
