Ta Van Commune: Timely support for people in areas at risk of landslides

Faced with complicated weather developments, the Party Committee and authorities of Ta Van commune have mobilized local forces to strengthen inspection, review, and assessment of areas at risk of landslides, mobilize people to safe shelters, and provide essential goods to households.

Through inspection, the commune authorities discovered many points with signs of landslides, with rocks and soil sliding down houses and inter-village roads.

More than 40 households in areas at risk of being affected by natural disasters in Thao Hong Den and Hoa Su Pan 1 villages have been propagandized, mobilized, and supported to move to safe shelter at Hau Thao Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.

Local authorities are also on duty regularly, ready to assist in evacuation in case of emergency. In addition, the commune continues to regularly update weather information from professional agencies to promptly notify people to proactively prevent.

Up to now, the households that were relocated to Hau Thao Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities have been reassured and settled in. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ta Van commune, in coordination with the People's Committee of the commune and other associations and organizations, visited and presented necessities to the households.
